Protecting the health and safety of employees was one of the primary aims of labor law. The birth of labor law has been linked both to the protection of the health and physical integrity of certain vulnerable groups of the working population (minors – women), and to the introduction of more general measures to address the risks to the health and safety of workers. But the issue does not only include the humanitarian dimension, which is of utmost importance, but also the economic one, since accidents at work and occupational diseases result in significant direct and indirect costs, which burden both business and society in general.
